October is behind us and that means the Inktober 2022 challenge just finished. The Bohemian’s Minds artists have joined this challenge again this year, and we look forward to reading about their thoughts and struggles during this fantastic creative journey.
Our artists also joined this challenge last year, so don’t forget to check out Inktober 2021. Click here
So here we are, we finished our challenge, and let’s hear how it went from our artists. Below is a short review for those who don’t know what is the Inktober. If you already know it, continue to our first artist: Erika Retiz.
What is Inktober 2022?
Inktober is a challenge for artists created by Jake Parker. You have 31 days in October to draw 31 drawings with ink, and will get a list of 31 prompts a month before the challenge starts. The rules are to draw in ink, but you can also use a pencil. Draw it, post it, hashtag it with #inktober or #inktober2022 and repeat. As simple as it is.
You can find all the information on their official page – https://inktober.com/.
The Inktober is a fantastic challenge and you should definitely try it! Join us next year or check out the promo list and do it now!
Do you think the artists finished the Inktober ART challenge? Indeed, let’s dive in.

Art does not need to be described to be art, but it does require finding yourself. So, I really appreciate the invitation by Bohemian’s Minds to take the Inktober challenge for the second time. This year I notice that I am having trouble concentrating and completing a task generally. Many years ago I made a contract with myself to finish everything I started and today it is not the case, so I will try not to punish myself for this. Creating is a moment of liberation but the mind often engages us in a certain “should be” way to please. Presently I observed that little by little I have begun to find a style through constant practice. And, I think that when I see my technique developing, everything will be easier.
Though I hope next year to be able to finish the challenge, I return to this article and I can observe my growth. But for now, I managed to finish a few more drawings. I also had a hard time connecting with the themes established in the challenge, so I chose the ones that I could easily resonate with or those I could just relax my mind with and have fun with.
Thank you very much Bohemian’s minds and the Inktober challenge for motivating me to take on this challenge.

Finally, here we go again, ah-ha! This is year two of participating in the Inktober challenge for me. Like last year’s feat, I found motivation and set aside more creative time for some drawing prompts more than others. Nonetheless, the entire process proves oh-so-fulfilling. Though I try to incorporate (and maintain) more rituals in my daily life, the Inktober 2022 challenge served as a great reminder to regularly value creativity in action. Even if it was 5 minutes or a whole evening’s succession of drawing after drawing, I am proud to have succeeded in getting half the month’s prompts made from pen to paper. Certainly, I hope some of them provoke some thoughts and curiosities, in you!

Wu, so this year was tough to finish this challenge, but I made it. It was 5 days later again, but it’s there! I was very busy, but then I pushed myself and finished about 15 drawings in two days. The hardest part of the Inktober art challenge for me is to know when is enough because otherwise you are stuck on one drawing for many hours and you don’t have enough time to draw more. And that’s exactly what happened to me, so you might see differences between drawings. While some of them are simple and some are more procreative as I spent more time on them. Summing up, hopefully, you will like what I created.
Enjoy.

Therefore, that’s a wrap for Inktober 2022! As you can see, it doesn’t matter if you finish it or not. What matters is participation. Furthermore, as you can hear from our artists, it gave them a lot. Please let us know how you like the drawings and share yours with us.
Stay creative and catch your muse.
